🧭 Plot & Storyline

Ace follows the enigmatic Bolt Kannan (Vijay Sethupathi), who is attempting to get away from his criminal past. After arriving in Malaysia, he meets Arivu (Yogi Babu), a rag picker who is trying to win over hotel owner Kalpana (Divya Pillai) by pretending to be a businessman. Kannan gets a job at Kalpana’s restaurant and soon crosses paths with Rukku (Rukmini Vasanth), a woman juggling multiple jobs to escape her abusive stepfather, Rajadurai (Babloo Prithviraj). Sparks fly between Kannan and Rukku, but her financial struggles push Kannan into a risky poker game against gangster Dharma (B. S. Avinash).

When the game goes south, Kannan owes Dharma a huge sum. To help Rukku buy her home and evict Rajadurai, Kannan plans a bank heist with Arivu. What follows is a whirlwind of chases, fights, and comedic chaos. The story unfolds slowly at first, but the second half picks up with thrilling heist sequences and a lengthy climax. Though predictable, the film keeps you engaged with its quirky detours and lighthearted moments.

🌟 Performances

Vijay Sethupathi steals the show as Bolt Kannan. His calm, witty charm makes the quirky character feel real. Fans love his youthful look and effortless acting. Yogi Babu, as Arivu, delivers hilarious one-liners and shares crackling chemistry with Sethupathi. Their playful banter, filled with insults and jabs, adds levity to the film. Rukmini Vasanth shines in her Tamil debut, bringing quiet dignity to Rukku. Her romance with Kannan feels genuine, though her role lacks depth. Divya Pillai surprises as Kalpana, holding her own in a supporting role. Babloo Prithviraj and B. S. Avinash play convincing villains, but their characters don’t leave a lasting impact.

📝 Conclusion

Ace is a fun, chaotic heist comedy that doesn’t aim for greatness but delivers enough laughs to keep you entertained. Vijay Sethupathi and Yogi Babu carry the film with their charm and humor. Rukmini Vasanth adds a refreshing touch, though her role could’ve been meatier. While the predictable story and slow pacing hold it back, the lively second half and family-friendly vibe make it a decent time-pass watch. If you’re a Vijay Sethupathi fan or love lighthearted comedies, Ace is worth a shot in theaters.

That’s it for now.
