Celebrities Respond to Allegations

Prakash Raj Admits Past Mistake

Actor Prakash Raj addressed the controversy in a video posted on ‘X.’ He admitted that he had endorsed a gaming app in June 2016. However, a few months later, he realized it was a mistake. Since his contract lasted a year, he could not withdraw immediately. When the company approached him for renewal, he declined.

“I have not endorsed any online gambling platforms in the past eight to nine years,” he said. Prakash Raj also advised young people to avoid gambling, as it can ruin lives. He clarified that he has not received any summons but will respond if required.

Rana Daggubati Denies Wrongdoing

A statement from Rana Daggubati’s team clarified that he was a brand ambassador for a skill-based gaming company, the contract ended in 2017. Rana’s endorsements were strictly limited to regions where these games were legally allowed.

His legal team reviewed the partnership before signing. They ensured compliance with all laws. The statement emphasized that the Supreme Court has ruled that skill-based games are not gambling.

Vijay Deverakonda’s Official Statement

Vijay Deverakonda’s team issued a statement similar to Rana Daggubati’s. He had signed a contract as a brand ambassador for a skill-based gaming platform, A23. His endorsement was limited to legally permitted regions. His association with the company ended in 2023.

Investigation Continues

The Telangana police are investigating the allegations. They are gathering evidence related to celebrity endorsements of gambling apps. Further action will depend on their findings. Celebrities and influencers involved may be called for questioning.

The case has sparked a debate about celebrity endorsements and their impact on young audiences. Authorities continue to warn against illegal gambling promotions. The public awaits further developments as the investigation unfolds.
