Obscene Remarks Spark Outrage

Ranveer Allahbadia made offensive remarks on the show, leading to massive public backlash. He asked a contestant about the “size of his p**”** and even offered ₹2 crore for an inappropriate act.

He also posed a shocking question: “Watch your parents have sex every day for the rest of your life, or join in once to stop it forever?”

Viewers condemned these statements, calling them highly inappropriate and disrespectful.

Public Backlash and Apology

Following the controversy, Allahbadia issued an apology on social media. He admitted his mistake and said, “Comedy is not my forte. I am here to say sorry.”

He acknowledged the responsibility of his platform and assured viewers that such incidents would not happen again. The show’s producers have since edited out the controversial parts.

Mumbai Police Begin Investigation

Mumbai Police visited the Khar studio where the show was recorded. They left after a brief enquiry but have confirmed that an investigation is ongoing.

Several lawyers and activists have also filed complaints. Bombay High Court advocate Satyam Surana accused the YouTubers of inciting sexually explicit discussions. Supreme Court lawyer Vineet Jindal filed a case in Delhi, calling for the show’s ban.

Complaint Filed in Bandra Magistrate Court

A separate complaint has been lodged at the Bandra Magistrate Court by Nikhil Ruparel, a social activist and Congress’ student union delegate. He called the statements “highly obscene and derogatory” and urged the court to take strict action.

The complaint invokes Sections 296, 352, and 353 of BNS, along with Section 67 of the IT Act. It also seeks an investigation under Section 225 of BNS.

Lawyers Demand Stricter Regulations

Several legal professionals have demanded tougher content regulations on YouTube. Advocate Ashish Rai has approached Mumbai Police to register an FIR. Lawyer Ashutosh Dubey has written to the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, urging action against such content creators.

Dubey’s letter requests stricter content moderation on digital platforms and guidelines for public figures to avoid promoting irresponsible content.

The controversy surrounding India’s Got Latent has led to legal action, police investigations, and public outrage. Authorities are now under pressure to take strong action against inappropriate online content.

The outcome of these legal proceedings will determine how digital platforms regulate explicit content in the future.
