Bhool Chuk Maaf

Rajkummar Rao returns as a small-town hero in Bhool Chuk Maaf, a quirky Maddock Films dramedy set in vibrant Banaras. Directed by Karan Sharma, this time-loop tale blends romance, humor, and a dash of faith but trips over its own ambitions.

Bhool Chuk Maaf hit Indian theaters on May 9, 2025, but faced a rocky start. Maddock’s decision to stream it just two weeks later, citing India-Pakistan tensions and the IPL suspension, sparked a ₹60-crore lawsuit from PVR Inox. This move hurt its theatrical run, leaving fans disappointed.

🧭 Plot & Storyline

In Bhool Chuk Maaf, Ranjan Tiwari (Rajkummar Rao) is a jobless Banaras lad desperate to marry his love, Titli (Wamiqa Gabbi). Her father demands a government job, so Ranjan bribes shady middleman Bhagwan Das (Sanjay Mishra). After praying at a Shiva temple and vowing a noble deed, Ranjan lands the job but gets stuck reliving his haldi ceremony day. He must break the loop to reach his wedding.

🌟 Performances

Rajkummar Rao shines as Ranjan, delivering sharp one-liners with his signature small-town charm. His frustrated expressions spark laughs, but the role feels too familiar, echoing Stree or Luka Chuppi.

Wamiqa Gabbi’s Titli is feisty but over-the-top, like a loud kid. Seema Pahwa, as Ranjan’s pickle-selling mom, and Sanjay Mishra steal moments, but their roles lack depth. Raghubir Yadav’s lazy dad and Ishtiyak Khan’s pal add quirks, yet the ensemble feels underused.

📝 Conclusion

Bhool Chuk Maaf is a heartwarming blend of romance, comedy, and time-loop fun. Rajkummar Rao’s charm, Wamiqa Gabbi’s energy, and a talented cast make it a joy. Banaras’s vibrant backdrop and fresh premise keep you hooked. Perfect for a relaxing movie night, this film delivers laughs and love. Grab your popcorn and dive into this small-town adventure!

That’s it for now.
