Amit Mishra on controversy: Veteran Indian cricketer Amit Mishra recently shared his thoughts on the changing dynamics between him and two of India’s biggest cricket stars, Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma. In a candid interview, Mishra discussed how fame and success have influenced Kohli, contrasting it with Rohit’s consistent nature.

Mishra’s Relationship with Rohit Sharma

Amit Mishra praised Rohit Sharma for his unwavering personality. According to Mishra, Rohit remains the same person he met on his first day as he is now. This consistency has helped maintain a friendly bond between them.

“When I meet Rohit during the IPL or any event, he is always joking with me. He is the same person now as he was on day one. It’s easy to relate to someone who stays the same,” Mishra said on YouTuber Shubhankar Mishra’s show ‘Unplugged’.

Kohli’s Transformation

Mishra’s comments on Virat Kohli highlighted a stark difference. He noted a significant change in Kohli’s behavior after gaining fame and power. Mishra observed that Kohli has become less approachable and more reserved.

“I respect Virat a lot as a cricketer, but our relationship isn’t the same anymore. Fame and power have changed him. We almost stopped talking,” Mishra said. He added that he has known Kohli since he was 14, when he used to eat samosas and pizzas every night. However, there is a huge difference between the young ‘Cheeku’ and the star Kohli today.

Comparing Leadership Styles

Mishra also touched upon the leadership styles of Rohit and Kohli. He mentioned that Rohit is more open with his teammates, discussing plans and strategies freely. On the other hand, Kohli is not as easily approachable.

“Rohit is very open with his players. He discusses plans and strategies freely. But with Virat, it’s different. He is not easily approachable,” Mishra explained.

The Pathan Controversy

During his appearance on Shubhankar Mishra’s podcast, Amit Mishra stood by his statement. He emphasized the need to follow rules and regulations in India.

“I spoke from the heart. If you follow the rules in other countries, why not in India? India has rules; follow them. What’s the problem?” Mishra said. He also revealed that he maintains a distant relationship with Pathan, saying, “I never hugged him. I keep relationships as they are. The close ones are close, and the commercial ones are commercial.”

Amit Mishra’s revelations provide an intriguing insight into the personalities and relationships within the Indian cricket team. While Rohit Sharma’s consistency and openness have fostered strong bonds, Virat Kohli’s transformation with fame has led to more reserved interactions. Despite controversies, Mishra remains firm in his beliefs and continues to value genuine relationships over commercial ones.
